Wolves due Sam Vokes transfer fee?

Wolverhampton Wanderers will reportedly receive a seven-figure payout should Burnley agree to the sale of striker Sam Vokes this month.

The 29-year-old is thought to have been the subject of a £9m bid from Championship side Stoke City, although the Clarets are believed to be pushing for a sum closer to £10m.

According to the Express & Star, under the terms of Wolves' £350,000 sale of Vokes in 2012, the side are due 25% of any profit for his future sell-on fee.

If Vokes is sold to Stoke for £10m, that would equate to an additional £2.4m for Wolves, who have already taken around £16m from the Potters this month for striker Benik Afobe and club captain Danny Batth.

Other reports have suggested that Burnley are also considering an offer of £8m plus the services of veteran frontman Peter Crouch in exchange for Vokes.
