Report: Sammy Ameobi to join Cardiff City on loan

Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi is to join Cardiff City on loan after penning a new deal at St James's Park, according to reports.

Newcastle United winger Sammy Ameobi has decided to sign a new contract with the club and will join Cardiff City on loan, according to reports.

The 23-year-old was set to become a free agent after the Magpies allowed his deal to run down, but Chronicle Live claims that he has been convinced to commit his future to the club.

The report goes on to add that Newcastle will allow him to begin the season on loan at Cardiff.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are also rumoured to be interested in signing Ameobi, who made 27 appearances in all competitions last season and scored two goals.
