Raul Jimenez says that he is "very happy" at Wolverhampton Wanderers and is eager to stay on for the long term, as long as the club agree to meet Benfica's valuation.

Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Raul Jimenez has declared that he wants to turn his loan move into a permanent contract at the end of the season.

The 27-year-old arrived at Molineux on a season-long deal from Benfica last summer and has led the line to good effect, scoring his 14th goal of the campaign in last weekend's 1-1 draw with Chelsea.

Wolves agreed to pay Benfica £2.5m to take Jimenez on loan and there is a £32m agreement in place should they wish to sign him up beyond the end of the season.

Jimenez, who was the subject of a £34m bid from a Chinese club last year, has made it clear that he wants to remain at Molineux.

"I'd like to stay at the Wolves. I'm very happy," he told Marca Claro. "A major project was created at Wolverhampton. It's not normal for a newly promoted Premier League team to be fighting for a place in the Europa League."

On his £32m valuation, Jimenez added: "It was the clause that Benfica decided and that is what any team who wants me will have to pay."

Jimenez's 12 top-flight goals have played a massive part in Wolves' charge for European football, as they sit seventh in the table with eight games to go.
