Kenny Jackett "optimistic" over new signings

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett reveals that he is "optimistic" of making signings before the transfer window closes.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Kenny Jackett has said that he remains "optimistic" of bringing in new players before the end of the transfer window.

Following the sale of Benik Afobe to Bournemouth earlier this month, Jackett has been left short of options up front and has a growing injury list that includes Nouha Dicko, Jordan Graham and Bjorn Sigurdarson.

"It's very easy to bring players in, but it's hard to bring the right players in," Jackett told the club's official website after today's 1-1 draw at Queens Park Rangers. "And unless you do, you're better off doing nothing. We'll continue to work hard - I'm optimistic.

"We'll see how next week develops. We feel we need to strengthen. If we can make the right acquisitions then I think we can do very well in this division.

"As a side I don't think we need the most additions – we don't need to reconstruct what is a spirited squad."

Wolves are currently 12th in the Championship, eight points off the playoff places.
