Team News: Marcus Rashford starts for Manchester United against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Rashford starts for Man United against Wolves

Marcus Rashford has been handed a start for Manchester United in Thursday's Premier League fixture at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The long-serving forward was left out of the squad for Sunday's FA Cup tie at Newport County after spending successive nights clubbing in Northern Ireland, the second of which was unauthorised and led to the England international initially claiming that he was ill.

However, with head coach Erik ten Hag claiming that the matter has since been dealt with, Rashford has been recalled to the starting lineup.

Ten Hag has opted to make just two changes in total, the other being goalkeeper Andre Onana returning between the sticks after representing Cameroon at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Altay Bayindir and Antony are the players to drop down to the substitutes' bench, with Raphael Varane and Casemiro retaining their spots in the team.

Meanwhile, Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Gary O'Neil has opted to stick with the same starting lineup from the victory over West Bromwich Albion in the FA Cup fourth round.

O'Neil had the option of recalling the likes of Joao Gomes and Pablo Sarabia, who are each back in contention after suspension and injury respectively.

Rayan Ait-Nouri could have also been restored at left wing-back, but O'Neil has instead decided to name an unchanged XI for the fixture at Molineux.

With it appearing that Wolves will not sign a new striker before close of business on Thursday, teenage forward Nathan Fraser will remain at the club and has been selected on the substitutes' bench.

Wolverhampton Wanderers: Sa; Dawson, Kilman, Toti; Semedo, Lemina, Doyle, Doherty; Neto, Cunha, Bellegarde

Subs: Bentley, Ait-Nouri, S. Bueno, Gomes, H. Bueno, Sarabia, Hodge, Chirewa, Fraser

Manchester United: Onana; Dalot, Varane, Martinez, Shaw; Casemiro, Mainoo; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund

Subs: Bayindir, Evans, Kambwala, Maguire, Diallo, Eriksen, Forson, McTominay, Antony
