Three late goals hand Middlesbrough win

Middlesbrough come from a goal down to beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 3-1 at Molineux.

Second-half goals from Diego Fabbrini, Grant Leadbitter and Stewart Downing have handed Middlesbrough a 3-1 victory at Wolverhampton Wanderers this afternoon.

David Edwards had put Wolves in front at the break, but the hosts could not hold on as a late Boro charge swung the game in their favour.

Benik Afobe escaped the attentions of the Boro defence in the 11th minute but could only fire wide and sixty seconds later Tomas Kalas forced Emiliano Martinez into an athletic save at the other end.

However, Edwards put Wolves ahead in the 24th minute as he nodded home Scott Golbourne's precise cross following an incisive move by the hosts.

Martinez was forced into another save a few moments later as he dived to his left to deny George Friend.

Edwards was then presented with a chance to double his and Wolves' tally shortly before the break, but the midfielder snatched at his effort and the ball sailed over the bar.

Wolves substitute James Henry sent a volley towards goal in the 66th minute, but Dimitrios Konstantopoulos reacted to parry the strike to safety.

Fabbrini equalised for Boro in the 71st minute when he fired a low shot into the far corner and Leadbitter made it 2-1 with an 82nd-minute penalty after Nathan Byrne had brought down Friend.

In the second minute of injury time, substitute Downing floated a free kick into the top corner to ensure Boro went home with all three points.
