Terry Connor: 'We could have nicked it'

Wolves interim boss Terry Connor believes that his side could have snatched the victory during their goalless draw at Sunderland.

Wolverhampton Wanderers interim coach Terry Connor has admitted that his side could have claimed all three points in their 0-0 draw at Sunderland.

In a game of few chances at the Stadium of Light, Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Steven Fletcher both had opportunities to clinch what would have been a vital win for the Premier League strugglers.

Despite not being able to find the net, Connor was pleased that his team managed to keep a clean sheet.

"I thought we gave a good account of ourselves," he told Sky Sports News. "With a little bit of quality we could have nicked one and won the game.

"The whole team deserves credit for the clean sheet.

"The last four of five games we have deserved more. Today was the culmination of that. We kept a clean sheet and with a bit of luck we could've nicked all three [points]."

Wolves are now eight points from safety following the stalemate.
