Preview: Wolverhampton vs. Wigan Athletic

Wolves vs. Wigan

Wolverhampton Wanderers will be attempting to bounce back from just their second defeat of the season when they host Wigan Athletic in the Championship this weekend.

Kenny Jackett's side were beaten 3-1 when Huddersfield Town travelled to Molineux earlier this week, leaving Wolves seventh in the table.

Midfielder Lee Evans is likely to miss the match after sustaining a nerve-related injury during the defeat, which has also made him a doubt for Wales's upcoming Euro 2016 qualifiers.

Nouha Dicko returned from almost a month out with a hamstring injury last time out, coming through 90 minutes unscathed in the loss to Huddersfield.

Meanwhile, Wigan head into the match without a win in their last five outings, a run which has seen them drop to 21st in the table.

The Latics were held to a goalless draw by Nottingham Forest earlier this week, ensuring that they went the entirety of September without a win in the league.

The visitors could be without captain Emmerson Boyce for their trip to Molineux after he only made it to half time in their outing earlier this week.

Uwe Rosler has an otherwise healthy squad for the game, which could leave his side in the relegation places in they do not secure a win.

When the two sides were both in the Premier League during the 2011-12 season, both teams won their home matches.
