Preview: Wolverhampton Wanderers vs. Middlesbrough

Wolves vs. Boro

Wolverhampton Wanderers have a tough task on their hands if they want to end their recent struggles when in-form Middlesbrough visit Molineux on Tuesday night in the Championship.

Kenny Jackett's Wolves appeared to be on course to end a three-game winless streak at his former club Millwall on Saturday, but the Lions fought back from 3-0 down to spectacularly earn a point.

That saw Wolves fall out of the top six and on Tuesday they will be without a victory in the league for over a month.

Hull City loanee Yannick Sagbo will be pushing for a start in attack and could get the nod over Nouha Dicko to lead the line.

As for Boro, they come into the game just a point adrift of table-toppers Watford in third place and haven't suffered defeat since the end of August.

Aitor Karanka's side are on a seven-game unbeaten run and have won five of those matches to close in on the summit.

On Saturday they recorded their fourth away win of the season - only Norwich City have won as many on the road - at Brighton & Hove Albion to make it two wins on the spin.

Lee Tomlin scored the opening goal at The Amex, but was then forced off at half time with a leg injury and might have to sit out the trip to Molineux.

Albert Adomah and Adam Clayton also came off with problems, but both are expected to be fit on Tuesday.

If Tomlin does have to miss out, then Jelle Vossen is the most likely to replace him in the starting XI after he came on in his place at Brighton.

The last time these two sides met was in March 2013, with Wolves coming out on top 3-2.
