Walter Zenga: 'I'm unlikely to return to Inter Milan'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Walter Zenga acknowledges that he will probably not get an opportunity to manage one of the big teams in Serie A.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Walter Zenga has claimed that he is unlikely to ever be given the opportunity to manage former club Inter Milan.

During his playing career, Zenga spent 16 years at San Siro where he made over 300 appearances in Serie A, but he is yet to enjoy the same kind of stardom as a manager and is currently in the dugout at Championship outfit Wolves.

The former goalkeeper has suggested that he has had offers to coach again in his homeland, but he does not feel that it would have been enough to earn a return to Inter.

The 56-year-old told Inter. It: "I had the opportunity to coach a team in Italy, but that probably would not have given me the opportunity to be considered for the Inter bench.

"However, it is something I have thought about, but I think the right time has passed."

Zenga has won five of his opening 11 games in charge of Wolves.
