Wolves plan Nenad Milijas appeal

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Mick McCarthy has revealed that the club will appeal the red card that was handed to Nenad Milijas this afternoon.

The Serbian midfielder was given his marching orders by referee Stuart Attwell for a challenge on Arsenal midfielder Mikel Arteta.

"What concerns me is we are being targeted as this dirty team but Nenad Milijas has not got a bad bone in his body," McCarthy told BBC Sport. "He is not built like that.

"We will appeal it and I hope the referee will be magnanimous enough to rescind it.

"I can't for the life of me see why he has been sent off, his foot was on the floor, he made contact with the ball and I can't work out which bit of that makes it a bad tackle."

Despite being depleted, Wolves still managed to hold out for a 1-1 draw at the Emirates Stadium
