Alan Curbishley turns down Wolverhampton Wanderers again

Wolves fail with second Curbishley bid

Wolverhampton Wanderers have failed in a new attempt to make Alan Curbishley their manager, according to BBC Sport.

Curbishley was offered the role last week, having impressed the club's board during an interview.

However, despite publicly admitting his interest in the job, Curbishley turned down the opportunity to replace Mick McCarthy.

Wolves are believed to have turned their attention to Reading boss Brian McDermott, but he now seems likely to remain with the Royals.

That sparked a second bid for Curbishley from Wolves, but the parties were unable to agree terms.
