Rajiv van La Parra: 'I shouldn't have stormed off against Sheffield Wednesday'

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Rajiv van la Parra admits that he shouldn't have reacted negatively after being substituted against Sheffield Wednesday.

Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Rajiv van La Parra has revealed that there was "no bad feeling" in his decision to walk straight down the tunnel after being substituted against Sheffield Wednesday.

Van La Parra was subsequently dropped from the starting lineup for the next match against Derby County due to the impact of replacement James Henry, and the Dutchman has acknowledged that he was wrong to react negatively in the Championship fixture on March 17.

The 23-year-old told the Express & Star: "My reaction after coming off was not good to go straight inside. Sometimes, footballers find it hard because we have a lot of emotion on the pitch.

"In certain situations, you react very quickly and it can take only seconds to think about things. But I think everyone who knows me will know there was no bad meaning meant by it.

"I was just disappointed because I want to do well for the team and we have the same ambition – to get to the Premier League."

Van La Parra has scored twice in 35 appearances since moving to Molineux last summer.
