Former Lyon boss Peter Bosz is reportedly being considered to become the next head coach of Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Peter Bosz has reportedly emerged as the latest candidate for the vacant head coach position at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Having parted company with Bruno Lage on October 2, it had been expected that Wolves would have found a permanent replacement over two weeks later.

However, after being turned down by primary target Julen Lopetegui, the Premier League outfit currently have Under-18s boss Steve Davis in caretaker charge.

Since last Friday, Wolves have been heavily linked with former boss Nuno Espirito Santo, currently at Al-Ittihad, and Queens Park Rangers head coach Michael Beale.

Nevertheless, Fosun international appear ready to take their time to make a final decision, with talkSPORT now reporting that Bosz has entered the running.

The 58-year-old has only been out of work for a matter of days after he was sacked by Lyon as recently as October 9.

Although Lyon started the season by collecting 13 points from a possible 15 in Ligue 1, they followed that with a run of four successive defeats.

After a 3-1 loss to high-flying Lorient, Lyon succumbed by one-goal margins to each of Monaco, Paris Saint-Germain and Lens, and a 1-1 draw at home to Toulouse proved to be the final straw for Les Gones' hierarchy.

Prior to his 59-game stint with the French giants, Bosz won 59 of his 108 matches in charge of Bayer Leverkusen, while he can also count guiding Ajax to the 2017 Europa League final among his list of achievements.

As it stands, it is unclear how much time Wolves are prepared to spend on selecting their preferred replacement for Lage.

At his pre-match press conference ahead of Tuesday's fixture at Crystal Palace, Davis insisted that he had not been provided with any updates regarding the search.

Davis has recorded one win and one defeat from his two matches in charge, following a 3-0 defeat at Chelsea with a much-needed 1-0 win over Nottingham Forest on Saturday.

Wolves now sit in 17th position in the Premier League standings, just one point above the relegation zone.
