Sean Parrish leaves Northampton Town to take up a coaching role at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Sean Parrish has departed Northampton Town to take up a coaching role at Championship club Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The 40-year-old, who made 115 appearances at Sixfields between 1996 and 2000, leaves with the blessing of Northampton boss Aidy Bothroyd.

"We are sorry to see Sean go but this is a terrific opportunity for him. Sean has been commuting from his Shropshire home for the last few years and as well as giving him the chance to work for a club who were in the Premier League a few months ago, this move means he will also be closer to his family," Bothroyd told the club's official website.

"We wish Sean well at his new club and thank him for the many years service he has offered Northampton Town in various roles."

Parrish also represented Chesterfield during his playing career.
