Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo and Bolton Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson are charged with improper conduct by the FA after last weekend's spat.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Nuno Espirito Santo and Bolton Wanderers manager Phil Parkinson have both been charged with improper conduct by the FA following their touchline spat in last weekend's Championship meeting.

The pair clashed in the first half of Wolves' 5-1 win over their opponents last Saturday following a challenge from David Wheater on Diogo Jota.

Nuno and Parkinson were both sent to the stands by referee Keith Stroud, but the former elected to watch his side cruise to victory from the dressing room at Molineux.

"Wolves' Nuno Espirito Santo and Bolton's Phil Parkinson have both been charged with alleged improper conduct following the match on Saturday 25 November," an FA statement read.

"They both have until 6pm on Monday 4 November to respond."

Wolves are four points clear at the top of the Championship, while Bolton, who are bottom of the second tier, are three points adrift of safety.
