Wolves manager Mick McCarthy describes this afternoon's victory over Wigan as a "huge result".

Wolves manager Mick McCarthy has described his side's victory over Wigan this afternoon as a "huge result".

Goals from Jamie O'Hara, Dave Edwards and Stephen Ward were enough for Wolves to beat the inspired Ali Al-Habsi in the Wigan goal.

Speaking afterwards, McCarthy said: "It's a huge result for us.

"We've been struggling of late and to get points against our competitors is great. The players go about their jobs in a right and proper manner and they did this again today."

The win sees McCarthy's side jump four places to 13th in the Premier League.
