Kenny Jackett: 'Wolverhampton Wanderers must score more goals'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett admits that his side must score more goals if they are to have a chance of earning promotion from the Championship.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has revealed that he expects his team to score more goals during the second half of the season.

The Championship outfit currently sit in seventh position, but after seeing his side score just 33 goals in 28 games, Jackett has admitted that the club need to improve in the final third.

The 53-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "We've got to be able to open up and dominate teams. That's where we want to get to. To go one better and really be a good side, we need to be that tight at the back but create and score more goals.

"It's quite an obvious thing to say but that's how I feel and we'll endeavour to do that now in our team selection, in our training, and in our approach to it.

"We want to stay just as tight at the back but be able to up that goals tally to keep the pressure on the top six. An improved defensive record has helped us and made us more competitive."

Wolves play host to Reading on Saturday afternoon.
