Kenny Jackett: 'Bakary Sako relaxed over Wolverhampton Wanderers future'

Kenny Jackett says that in-form Wolves winger Bakary Sako must keep his head down and focus on helping the club amid speculation of a summer move to West Brom.

Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Kenny Jackett has told in-form Bakary Sako to ignore speculation over his future and focus on firing Wolves into the Premier League.

The 26-year-old brought his tally for the season to 10 with a first-half brace in Tuesday's 3-0 win over Fulham as Wanderers moved five points adrift of the playoff places.

Sako has been linked with a summer switch to West Bromwich Albion, who were rebuffed with a deadline-day approach for the winger earlier this month.

"We have to sum the situation up at the end of the season, to some degree we have done well to keep him as long as we have," Jackett told Sky Sports News.

"He is relaxed with that, he doesn't want to talk about the future or do anything until then. He is happy to focus on Wolves. We're comfortable waiting until the end of the year. I have been delighted with his attitude, we have been really clear with him and the player enjoys his football.

"It's great for him to get goals, it will really help his confidence. He has always been an important player, he gives the team balance."

Jackett's side travel away to Cardiff City on Saturday.
