Nathan Byrne looking to prove himself in Championship

New Wolverhampton Wanderers signing Nathan Byrne admits that he is keen to prove himself in the Championship after making the switch from League One side Swindon Town.

Winger Nathan Byrne has admitted that he is "over the moon" to have completed a move from Swindon Town to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Byrne has penned a three-year contract at Molineux after the two clubs agreed a fee believed to be in the region of £1m, and the former Tottenham Hotspur trainee has revealed that he is keen to show that he can make the step up to the Championship.

The 23-year-old told the club's official website: "Obviously I am over the moon. For one, it is a step up from the Championship and I feel it is my time to prove myself at the higher level.

"Secondly, I have known from when I was young how big a club Wolves is. I am buzzing to be at such a big club with great ambitions which want to push on. The team is young and there is a real belief here and I am delighted to be involved."

Byrne leaves Swindon having scored 10 goals in 77 appearances during his time at the club.
