Wolverhampton Wanderers boss Stale Solbakken says that his decision to make 10 changes ahead of his side's 6-0 defeat to Chelsea was a "calculated risk" and that he is solely to blame for the heavy loss.

Wolverhampton Wanderers manager Stale Solbakken has taken full responsibility for his side's 6-0 defeat to Chelsea in the League Cup.

Solbakken made 10 changes to his starting XI for Tuesday night's match at Stamford Bridge and he describes the decision as a "calculated risk".

"Obviously we had thought about this a lot before doing it," he said. "There was a risk that something like this could happen but we were punished at the beginning of the game with a soft set piece goal.

"Then came another goal and obviously that made it hard for the young boys in the team.

"There is no-one else to blame but me and it is a calculated risk that I would do again because we have had three games in six days and have got three games in seven coming up."

Next up for Wolves is a home match against Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
