Wolfsburg's Dieter Hecking demands more effort

Dieter Hecking wants his Wolfsburg players to show more effort on Saturday against Schalke 04.

Wolfsburg coach Dieter Hecking has demanded more from his side ahead of their clash against Schalke 04 on Saturday.

Hecking's team were beaten 2-0 by Hannover on the opening day of the Bundesliga season and he wants the players to prove to the home supporters that they care about the club.

"We need to put in more effort on the pitch in order to get the fans on our side," he told Bundesliga.com.

"We have to prove we want to win this match at all costs. I'm looking forward to this home game and want to get off to a good start on our own turf."

Maximilian Arnold and Timm Klose were both sent off on Saturday.
