Wigan Athletic to move for Adrian Mariappa?

Wigan Athletic boss Roberto Martinez is reportedly preparing a move for Watford defender Adrian Mariappa.

The 25-year-old has been linked with a host of Premier League clubs after impressing in the Championship last season, and he is expected to leave Vicarage Road this summer.

Martinez will bid £3m for the centre-half, according to The Mirror, as he attempts to ready his squad for the new campaign.

Reading and Southampton have also been credited with an interest.
