Wigan Athletic lodge bid for Ivan Ramis

Wigan Athletic are understood to have placed a bid for Real Mallorca's Ivan Ramis.

The Latics have offered £3m for the centre-back, but the Spaniards are said to be holding out for £4.25m, according to The Sun.

Aston Villa and Sunderland are also keeping tabs on the defender, who allegedly turned down a move to Everton two years ago.

The 27-year-old, who has one year remaining on his Mallorca contract, has previously expressed interest in a move to the Premier League.
