Wigan Athletic 'express interest' in Leeds United defender Jason Pearce

Wigan Athletic have reportedly made an approach to sign centre-back Jason Pearce from fellow Championship strugglers Leeds United.

The 27-year-old hasn't started a league game in over a month under Neil Redfearn and Wigan have been alerted to his possible availability, according to the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Having recently signed Sol Bamba on loan, Pearce's chances of getting back into the starting lineup appear even slimmer than before.

The defender, who was stripped of the club captaincy earlier this season, has 18 months left on his current contract at Elland Road.
