Wigan Athletic manager Malky Mackay has said that Jermaine Pennant's performance in their 2-1 Championship victory over Rotherham United was "sensational".
Pennant scored two free kicks to give Wigan a victory which took them to within six points off safety.
"Jermaine Pennant's delivery on both [free kicks] was sensational," Mackay told reporters.
"It's not until you look at that and look at it again that you see exactly what he did, and how he has executed those free kicks.
"Great credit to him for the way that he's come into the football club and shown great character, personality and humility to come in."
Former Liverpool and Stoke City winger Pennant joined Wigan on a free transfer last month.
