FA fines Wigan Athletic £40k over agency activity in Marc-Antoine Fortune signing

Wigan Athletic are fined £40,000 by the FA over the signing of Marc-Antoine Fortune.

Wigan Athletic have been fined £40,000 by the Football Association over agency activity in the signing of Marc-Antoine Fortune.

The charge relates to the activity of Willie McKay during last summer's free signing of 32-year-old Fortune from West Bromwich Albion.

Both the club and McKay admitted to breaking rule C10 (a)(i) of the Football Agents Regulations. McKay has been warned about his future conduct.

Fortune has made 36 appearances in the Championship for the Latics, scoring four goals.
