Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler: 'We lost our concentration'

Uwe Rosler says that Wigan Athletic were punished by MK Dons for losing focus while being two goals to the good in this afternoon's FA Cup third-round meeting.

Wigan Athletic manager Uwe Rosler has said that his team lost their focus after going 2-0 up in this afternoon's FA Cup third-round tie at home to MK Dons.

Roger Espinoza and Jordi Gomez put the Latics ahead at the DW Stadium before a quick-fire brace from Ben Reeves on the stroke of half time left the home side stunned.

Callum McManaman restored the holders' advantage but they were unable to hang on, as Patrick Bamford curled home with six minutes remaining to force a replay.

"I never felt we were in control, not one little bit," Rosler told reporters. "But when you are leading 2-0 just before half-time, and 3-2 just before full-time - with the experience we have in the side - we should be managing the game better.

"I am disappointed that we weren't good enough in the decisive moments in the game. We had a plan, which was working well, but having got to 2-0 up we stopped it - we did it half-hearted.

"I had told my players how good MK Dons could play, especially when you give them time and space on the ball, and they were cutting through us. That was not the plan, and it ended up costing us dearly."

The replay will take place at Stadium MK on January 14.
