Riots force West Ham to postpone League Cup tie

West Ham United have been asked by police to postpone their Carling Cup tie with Aldershot Town on Tuesday.

Police contacted the club earlier today and said that all major public events were to be cancelled in London as the authorities deal with the riots currently ongoing in the capital.

No date has yet been set for the rearranged match, but West Ham are planning to contact the Football League and Aldershot tomorrow to find a suitable time.
