West Ham United 'had €50m Alexandre Lacazette bid rejected'

West Ham 'had €50m Lacazette bid rejected'

Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas has revealed that the club rejected a €50m (£42.7m) bid from West Ham United for striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer.

The Hammers were linked with a number of high-profile strikers earlier in the transfer window, with Lacazette reportedly top of manager Slaven Bilic's list.

Arsenal were also thought to be interested in the 25-year-old, and Aulas confirmed that West Ham's offer was not even the biggest one they received.

"We've refused an offer of €50m from West Ham for Alexandre Lacazette. We've even turned down more for him," he told French broadcaster SFR Sport.

West Ham have since signed Simone Zaza from Juventus on loan having lost new arrival Andre Ayew and Andy Carroll to injury.
