West Ham confirm Jack Wilshere deal

West Ham United have announced the signing of Jack Wilshere on a three-year contract.

Last month, Wilshere revealed that he was ending his long-term association with Arsenal after being told by Unai Emery that he would only be used as a bit-part player.

That resulted in a number of clubs - both home and abroad - being linked with a move for the 26-year-old, but it soon became apparent that the Londoner was strongly considering a short move across the capital.

West Ham - whom Wilshere supported during his childhood - have now confirmed that they have completed a deal for the England international, who has penned terms at the London Stadium until 2021.

Wilshere told the club's official website: "It feels good, it feels special. Many people know that I've had a special bond with this club growing up.

"People will have seen the picture of me in a West Ham shirt and I've got good memories of my childhood supporting West Ham, watching them at Upton Park. It feels good and of course my family and a few of my friends are West Ham fans so everyone's buzzing."

West Ham have now made four first-team signings this summer, and Borussia Dortmund attacker Andriy Yarmolenko could become the fifth later this week.
