Alvin Martin says that David Beckham should move to West Ham United when he leaves Los Angeles Galaxy.

Former West Ham United defender Alvin Martin believes that David Beckham would be the perfect signing for his old club.

The former England captain has revealed that he will leave Los Angeles Galaxy next month in order to pursue "one last challenge" before he retires.

Hammers co-owner David Gold has admitted that he is an admirer of the 37-year-old, and Martin believes that Beckham could strike up a dangerous partnership with Andy Carroll.

"He should go to West Ham," Martin told talkSPORT. "If West Ham are doing as well towards the end of the season as they are now, then why not?

"He'd be perfect at delivering balls for Andy Carroll. He's still got another year or two in him yet because he's not all about pace or athleticism."

Beckham has been strongly linked with a move to Australia.
