Jarvis having West Ham medical

Matt Jarvis is having a medical at West Ham United ahead of his £10m-plus transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The England international winger has been linked with a move away from Molineux following Wolves' relegation from the Premier League.

Numerous top-flight clubs, including Stoke City and Southampton, were linked with a move for the 26-year-old, but instead it is the Hammers that are closing on his signature in a club-record signing.

Jarvis is currently undergoing a medical at Upton Park and will then sit down for discussions over personal terms.

The seven-figure price would be the highest sum West Ham have paid for a player, eclipsing Craig Bellamy's £7.5m transfer from Blackburn in 2007.

Hammers manager Sam Allardyce is hopeful that the transfer will be completed tonight, making Jarvis available for this weekend's fixture against Swansea City.
