Bilic hopeful of permanent Song deal

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has revealed that the club is "in contact" with Barcelona over a permanent move for Alex Song.

The midfielder, who is currently sidelined with an ankle injury, spent last season on loan at Upton Park.

Reports have suggested that Barca are willing to let the 27-year-old leave for free this summer, and Bilic is hopeful that a deal can be made.

"We are in contact but it's not for the media yet," the former Croatia manager is quoted as saying by ITV Sport.

West Ham co-chairman David Sullivan claimed last month that the club would not give up on landing Song permanently.
