Championship transfers 2026: Every confirmed signing and sale in summer window

While World Cup fever gripped the globe, the 2026 summer transfer window in the United Kingdom ran from June 15 to September 1, and Championship clubs were at the centre of many tussles - both on the incomings and outgoings front.

Here, Sports Mole provides a comprehensive list of all the ins and outs from the English second tier so far.

Biggest deals of the 2026 Championship summer transfer window

Following West Ham United's relegation from the Premier League, rumours swirled surrounding one player in particular - Portuguese midfielder Mateus Fernandes.

The former Southampton starlet was a standout performer in an otherwise dismal campaign for the Irons, earning his stars as a number six, number eight and number 10 at the London Stadium.

Manchester United and Arsenal took a serious interest in Fernandes, but Tottenham Hotspur made their move and completed an £85m deal.

Fernandes's former Irons teammate Jarrod Bowen was facing an uncertain future, but he is set to remain with the Hammers for at least another season.

West Ham have put some of their Fernandes finances to good use, bringing in Arne Engels from Celtic in a transaction worth circa £22m, making the Belgian the most expensive EFL player of all time.

However, fellow winger Crysencio Summerville opted not to stick around in the second tier, and instead jumped ship for Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal for just north of £50m.

El Hadji Malick Diouf also made the leap from the London Stadium to a top-flight team, joining Brentford for around £34m in the third-biggest deal of the summer window.

As expected, relegated clubs were raided in the earliest weeks of the transfer window, as Wolverhampton Wanderers also lost Joao Gomes to Aston Villa in a deal worth £34m.

Burnley also waved goodbye to Maxime Esteve and Loum Tchaouna, who joined RB Leipzig and Coventry City respectively, while Jaidon Anthony (Brentford) and Luca Koleosho (Paris FC) also departed Turf Moor.

Elsewhere, Everton won the race to sign much-coveted midfielder Hayden Hackney from Middlesbrough, fending off apparent interest from Man United and Tottenham Hotspur in the process, while Fulham stole Shea Charles from Spygate-rocked Southampton.

The Saints also lost Taylor Harwood-Bellis to Aston Villa, while Burnley sold striker Zian Flemming to Ipswich Town in the last hours of the window.
