Team News: Adam Johnson named on Sunderland bench for trip to West Ham United

Adam Johnson is named on the bench for Sunderland's Premier League visit to West Ham after his suspension following his recent arrest is lifted.

West Ham United manager Sam Allardyce has made one change ahead of his side's Premier League clash against Sunderland at Upton Park this evening.

New Black Cats manager Dick Advocaat opts for an attacking lineup, starting Jermain Defoe, Connor Wickham and Steven Fletcher, with Liam Bridcutt and Ricky Alvarez dropping out, and Jordi Gomez also coming in.

Midfielder Adam Johnson is on the visiting bench, having returned to training this week after the club lifted his suspension following his arrest on suspicion of sexual activity with a 15-year-old girl.
