West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic will reportedly hold showdown talks with the club's board following a damaging 5-1 defeat to Arsenal.

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic will reportedly have showdown talks with the club today after a dismal result against Arsenal over the weekend.

The Hammers were beaten 5-1 by the Gunners on home turf at the London Stadium on Saturday - their eighth defeat of the season.

It has been a torrid campaign so far, as the club, who finished seventh last season, are currently just one point above the relegation zone after 14 games.

Pressure was on West Ham to build on their impressive 2015-16 campaign after moving into the Olympic ground over the summer, but they have been a far cry from their former selves.

In the last six games, the East London outfit have recorded two draws and four defeats, which has led the club to hold a crisis meeting with Bilic today, according to The Mirror.

The report claims that the West Ham board will make a decision on whether to continue with Bilic at the helm or give him three games to save his job.

Next up for the club is a trip to Anfield to face third-placed Liverpool, and following that will be home matches against Burnley and Hull City.

It is believed that the club's hierarchy are worried that they will be unable to convince top-quality players to join in the January transfer window if results do not improve.

Bilic signed a three-year contract to take over at West Ham in June 2015.
