Andy Carroll confident of West Ham United survival

Andy Carroll insists that he is confident about West Ham United's chances of staying in the Premier League next season.

West Ham United striker Andy Carroll has insisted that the club is confident of staying in the Premier League next season.

The Hammers suffered a setback in their fight for survival on Saturday as they were beaten 3-1 at Stoke City.

However, Carroll believes that West Ham will get the necessary points in the coming weeks to secure their top-flight status.

"We were obviously disappointed with the result at the end. We know we need points because we're not safe so we need to keep working hard and focus on the next game," he told the club's official website.

"I don't think anyone is not confident about staying up and getting the points we need."

Saturday's defeat has seen West Ham slip to within six points of the relegation zone.
