West Ham to hand Moyes long-term deal?

West Ham United reportedly intend to keep manager David Moyes in place beyond the end of the season by offering the Scotsman a new long-term deal.

The 54-year-old was appointed on a seven-month contract in November with the task of guiding the Hammers away from the relegation zone.

Moyes recently indicated that he would like to stay on at the London Stadium permanently, having nearly achieved that target, and The Mirror claims that United chiefs are happy to reward his work with fresh terms.

West Ham's hierarchy are said to have been particularly pleased with Moyes's approach to discipline and the response from his players since taking over from Slaven Bilic.

Saturday's 3-0 win over fellow strugglers Southampton lifted West Ham up to 14th place, five points clear of danger with seven games left to play.
