Slaven Bilic "extremely disappointed" by West Ham United collapse

Slaven Bilic: 'We should have held on'

West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has admitted that he is "extremely disappointed" with his side's late collapse against Tottenham Hotspur this evening.

The Hammers led their London rivals 2-1 heading into the 89th minute at White Hart Lane, but a quickfire Harry Kane brace ensured that they ended the match with nothing.

The visitors suffered another blow late on when Winston Reid was sent off in stoppage time, and Bilic believes that it was a harsh decision by Mike Dean to show the defender a second yellow card.

"We are extremely disappointed and when you are 2-1 up with three minutes to go to concede two goals is very hard to take. We had three really good opportunities to score the third," he told reporters.

"I think we were the better side in the first half hour then we started to lose the ball quite quickly. After we scored (to make it 2-1) that was the crucial time to hold on or score a third. We had some good counter-attacks and we should have killed the game. We have a tough schedule but we showed we can put in a really good performance.

"[Reid] was really good so that is a blow for us. To lose him for a game is a bit harsh."

The defeat is West Ham's seventh of the season and leaves them just one point clear of the relegation zone.
