West Ham United's David Moyes to join exclusive club in milestone Arsenal game

Moyes to join exclusive club in milestone Arsenal game

David Moyes will join an exclusive group of Premier League managers when his West Ham United side travel to Arsenal on Wednesday night.

The 58-year-old has managed four different clubs in the English top flight over a 19-year period, and will reach a special milestone when he sits in the dugout at the Emirates Stadium.

Wednesday's game in North London will be Moyes's 600th in the Premier League as a manager, becoming only the fourth coach in the competition's history to reach this landmark after Arsene Wenger, Sir Alex Ferguson and Harry Redknapp.

During his times with Everton, Manchester United, Sunderland and now West Ham, the Scotsman has won a total of 236 top-flight matches, drawing 161 games and suffering defeat on 202 occasions.

Speaking to the press on Tuesday ahead of their trip to Arsenal, Moyes said: "First of all, thanks – I didn't know that today! It just shows you you're doing a far better job than my PR people here!

"It's a big thing. 600 games in the Premier League is a fair achievement, and the names are well known and successful as manager, so I hope I can continue trying to be successful at whatever level we're at."

Moyes travels to the Emirates having failed to win any of his previous 17 Premier League away matches against Arsenal, while West Ham are hoping to win their first league game on the red side of North London since August 2015.
