Mark Noble miffed by Anfield red card

Mark Noble admits that he is unhappy with referee Kevin Friend for sending him off in West Ham United's 3-0 win at Liverpool.

West Ham United midfielder Mark Noble has admitted that he is miffed over referee Kevin Friend's decision to send him off in the 3-0 win at Liverpool this afternoon.

The 27-year-old, who had already been booked, was given a straight red card on 78 minutes for a perceived lunge on Danny Ings during United's rout of the Reds, who also finished with 10 men.

"I got a straight red, but I've watched it 10 times and there's no malice in it whatsoever," Noble, who added the Hammers' second in the first half, is quoted as saying by BBC Sport.

"I've won the ball first, in my eyes it's not even a yellow. That would've been harsh."

Philippe Coutinho saw red for the hosts on 53 minutes after picking up a second booking, after Manuel Lanzini and Noble had fired them ahead.

Diafra Sakho completed the rout late on as Slaven Bilic's side bounced back from successive home defeats to Leicester City and Bournemouth.
