West Ham United midfielder Jack Collison admits that he would like to add more goals to his game to push his claim for a starting spot in Sam Allardyce's side.

West Ham United midfielder Jack Collison is looking to add more goals to his game ahead of the new Premier League season.

The Wales international missed part of the last campaign due to injury but has come back firing in pre-season, finding the net in the Hammers' win over Bournemouth.

Collison told the club's official website: "It's nice to get a goal or two in pre-season and I should have had another one at Colchester on Tuesday night.

It's something I am looking to build on. I managed to score a few in the Championship and didn't get as many as I'd have liked last season, so it's something I want to improve on.

"I need to get my head down, work hard and try and put myself into the manager's thoughts for Cardiff. It's going to be a massive day. We know it's going to be a tough test but come matchday we'll be raring to go and get one over on them."

The 24-year-old made 19 appearances for Sam Allardyce's side last season, scoring two goals.
