Marko Arnautovic: 'West Ham United deserve to be in Premier League'

Marko Arnautovic believes that West Ham United "deserve to be in the Premier League" after the East Londoners successfully staved off relegation.

Marko Arnautovic has stated that West Ham United "deserve to be in the Premier League" after successfully beating the drop.

The Hammers saw their top-flight status assured for another season after beating Leicester City 2-0 last weekend and seeing Southampton play out a 1-1 draw with Everton.

West Ham's penultimate fixture of the season yielded a goalless draw with Manchester United and, speaking after the game, Arnautovic dedicated survival to the club's fans.

"We played very well and overall we deserve this point," Arnautovic told Sky Sports News. "It was an exciting game for us and the fans, and we can build on this for our final game on Sunday.

"There was a lot of holding and grabbing and it was a physical game, but this is the Premier League and we competed well with a good team in Manchester United.

"I'm so happy we are safe because the club and the fans deserve to be in the Premier League."

The Hammers finish the season with a home game against Everton on Sunday.
