Angelo Ogbonna: 'West Ham United need to beat Newcastle United'

Angelo Ogbonna says that West Ham United "want to put things right" when they face Newcastle United in their Premier League clash.

Angelo Ogbonna has said that West Ham United must "put things right" when they face Newcastle United at Upton Park in the Premier League on Monday night.

The Hammers have so far picked up maximum points away from home - courtesy of a 2-0 opening-day win at Arsenal and a 3-0 victory at Liverpool - but their form on the road has been compounded by two home losses to Leicester City and Bournemouth.

Despite their impressive away results, Ogbonna told the club's official website that West Ham "need to win" to banish the memories of the two defeats.

He said: "When you win you enjoy the next game, so our preparations have a good feel about it at the moment and we want to put things right [against Newcastle] because we are very annoyed about our last two results at home.

"We now look forward to the Newcastle game on Monday night. It is not just about playing under the lights, but we need to win for our home support. We are focused and have to do everything to get the result. I want to concentrate and give everything and all the players will prepare well to win the game.

"We have been unlucky at home and we need to change and do something better than what we did in the last two games."

Ogbonna joined West Ham from Juventus in the summer on a four-year deal.
