Report: Andy Carroll ruled out for six weeks

West Ham United have reportedly been dealt a further injury blow with the news that striker Andy Carroll is to miss the next six weeks with a knee injury.

The England international is said to have suffered his latest setback in Thursday's Europa League draw against Romanian side Astra Giurgiu.

Carroll, who remained fit throughout pre-season for the first time since joining the club three years ago, was brought on as a second-half substitute and lasted the duration.

According to The Express, however, the 27-year-old damaged his knee and will sit out around two months of action as he recovers.

United have already lost record signing Andre Ayew to injury, while Aaron Cresswell, Manuel Lanzini and Sofiane Feghouli are other high-profile absentees.
