Slaven Bilic: 'Winston Reid has hamstring problem'

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic says that centre-back Winston Reid is facing a period on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

West Ham United boss Slaven Bilic has revealed that key centre-back Winston Reid is facing a period on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury.

The New Zealand international picked up his fifth yellow card of the season in last weekend's 2-0 defeat to Everton at Goodison Park, which has ruled him out of Saturday's clash with Stoke City at the London Stadium.

Bilic, however, has claimed that the defender would have missed out against the Potters regardless of the ban after suffering "a grade one hamstring injury".

"Winston Reid picked up a grade one hamstring injury but is suspended," Bilic told reporters.

A difficult start to the 2016-17 campaign has left West Ham in 17th position in the Premier League table on 10 points, but they have only lost one of their last four in the league.
