PFA: 'Saido Berahino won't strike'

PFA chief Gordon Taylor has insisted that Saido Berahino will not go on strike despite threatening not to play for West Bromwich Albion again.

The 22-year-old hit out at Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace on Twitter after being denied a transfer deadline day move to Tottenham Hotspur, vowing not to play for the club while Peace remains at the helm.

Taylor told BBC Sport: "He will be playing. We have made contact with both the club and the player and we are very hopeful the matter will be resolved."

It has been reported that West Brom will offer Berahino a new contract.
