Tony Pulis looks for calm approach to Aston Villa clash

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis urges his players not to let their passion overwhelm their performance in their FA Cup quarter-final clash against Aston Villa.

West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis has insisted that his players have to keep their cool in their derby clash against Aston Villa in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

The two sides will play each other for the second time in five days after Tim Sherwood's men defeated the Baggies 2-1 in the Premier League at Villa Park.

The match proved to be an ill-tempered affair as six players were yellow-carded, and Pulis has urged his players not to let their passion overwhelm their football as they seek to earn a place in the last four of the competition.

He told reporters: "We have to play the game with our heads and our feet. We'll give it our best shot and for that you need 11 men on the pitch – and no one doing anything stupid."

West Brom last reached the semi-finals of the FA Cup in 2008.
