Marco Motta: 'I want to stay at Watford'

Marco Motta says that he wants to stay at Watford next season.

Italian wing-back Marco Motta has revealed that he wants to stay with newly-promoted Watford next season, even though his contract is due to expire in the summer.

The 28-year-old, who won a cap for the Italian national side in 2010, only joined the Hornets on a short-term loan deal in February.

However, Motta has indicated that he would like to stay in England and be part of the club's Premier League campaign next season.

"Here is another world. The stadiums are full and modern and the people always applaud their own team with respect. There is a different mentality, something different, which is passed from father to son," Motta told Tuttosport.

"I want to stay in England and with the Pozzo family. We arranged to meet after promotion to talk about the future. So it will be my priority and it will absolutely be for this club. I was very well received and was made to feel part of the project from day one."

Motta's former clubs include Udinese, Roma and Juventus, and he was part of the Italy side at the 2008 Olympics.
